Incorporating Local and Traditional Knowledge

Local and traditional knowledge offers valuable perspectives on changes in fish populations, aquatic habitats, and the landscapes that support them. This research theme explores how community observations and Indigenous and other traditional knowledge can inform freshwater research, monitoring, and management through respectful collaboration and knowledge sharing. The goal is to support conservation decisions that draw on different ways of knowing and reflect the priorities of communities connected to these waters.
